The biggest problem facing Capri enthusiasts is the ever dwindling availability of spare parts to keep our beloved coupe in show condition. Body panels for all models are scarce, particularly for Mk I models, and even genuine Mk III wings are very hard to find! Pattern panels are also drying up with many suppliers ceasing to hold stock or reducing the available range of repair panels.
To make matters worse supplies of other service parts such as rear axle bump stops, spring shackles, door mirrors, suspension components and even engine and gearbox parts are disappearing.
In an effort to assist both our own members and other Capri owners, our club Chairman has used his former experience as an employee in a Ford main dealer parts department to locate quantities of both genuine and pattern Capri parts. Via contacts within the Ford dealer network he has collected a large amount of new parts to assist our efforts in keeping the Capri on the road.
His persistance has resulted in the purchase of many main dealer stocks of 'Obsolete' parts and in 1999 Ford Motor Co. were good enough to respond to requests to offer a large quantity of parts they wished to dispose of to him. Most of these were purchased and added to the growing stockpile!
We hope to continue sourcing these invaluable parts, and subject to cash availability hope to commission the reproduction of the many sought after no longer serviced items. For more information or offers of either parts for sale, or assistance in getting the re-manufacturing process underway please contact us:-
